How To Update Google Play Services On Android

Google Play Services is an APK that contains the individual Google services and runs as a background service in Android OS. The Play Services APK is delivered automatically through the Google Play Store and devices running Android 2.3 and above can get the updates within a few days of their release. But usually the problem arises when you update an app and find that it won't open unless you update Google Play Services. Thankfully you can tap on the Update Google Play Services button (which appears on opening the app which requires the update) and install the update to Play Services. Sometimes it might happen that the button does not work and you're just led into the Play Store home. You may try to search Play Store for Google Play Services but it might not be possible to find it. Then what you should do? Here's the solution.

1. Open your Android device's browser (preferably, Google Chrome).
2. Go to Google and search for "Google Play Services".
3. Usually the top result will show Google Play Services from an url starting with play.google.com.
4. Tap on that link and choose Play Store to complete the task.
5. Touch the install button and you're done!
